Burdened by her reign.
Changes come as ages pass,
Just memories remain.
And even those begin to fade,
Further from her grasp.
It’s only natural,
Nothing’s meant last.

And yet despite the years
She holds an ageless grace.
Life and beauty untouched by time.
The envy of her race.

They know not
The tears she’s had to hide.
They know not
That heartbreak grows with time.
Faces are replaced by tombs; it seems like more each day.
And the one who’d understand’s the one she locked away.

A crack appears, she holds her tears and smiles away her woe.
Her mask crafted through years she heals, her loss they’ll never know.
Each year’s the same they celebrate, the rising of sun.
Ignorant that she only feels ashamed of what she’s done.

The monster she once fought,
The sister they for-got
Facts are marred by time
